Space for the Unspoken
If your situation feels layered, emotionally intense, or difficult to explain, you are not alone. Some challenges require more than a quick fix or a surface-level strategy. I take the time to understand the complexity of your life carefully and thoroughly. Our work together is not rushed or following a script; it is a thoughtful, steady process focused on making sure the changes you make actually stick.
Expertise & Clinical Foundation
Jenny Drake, MA, LCPC, LMHC, NCC

I provide insight-oriented therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, and the profound weight of grief. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and National Certified Counselor. I earned my Master’s degree with academic distinction from Northwestern University, and having successfully defended my doctoral dissertation at the Institute for Clinical Social Work, I expect my Ph.D. to be conferred in May 2026.

This advanced training deeply informs my focus on the intersection of psychodynamic theory and neuroscience. In practice, we look beyond surface symptoms to explore how early relationships, emotional habits, and nervous system responses continue to shape your present. I value depth, honesty, and the steady work that leads to meaningful, lasting change.

Navigating Life’s Challenges Together
Therapy is a place where you can finally put down the heavy lifting. I specialize in the "bookends" of adulthood: supporting emerging adults as they navigate identity and independence, and aging adults as they process shifts in health, role, and legacy.

I also work extensively with the profound weight of grief—not just the loss of a loved one, but the "invisible" grief of a life that looks different than you expected. Whether in one-on-one sessions or within the mindfulness and grief groups I facilitate, we create a space that honors your unique experience while helping you move forward with greater clarity and strength.

Virtual Therapy & Fees
Space for Healing, Wherever You Are
I offer virtual therapy across Illinois, Indiana, and Massachusetts, allowing you to engage in deep, focused work from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Many of my clients find that the virtual space offers a unique sense of safety and convenience, making it easier to show up fully as they are.

Insurance & Investment
My practice is designed to be accessible and streamlined, ensuring our primary focus remains on the work that matters.
-
In-Network: I am an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and Aetna.
-
Private Pay: For those not using the insurance plans listed above, my standard fee is $200 per session.
-
Out-of-Network: If you have a different insurance provider, I provide a monthly "superbill" (a detailed receipt) to assist you in seeking out-of-network reimbursement according to your plan’s benefits.
Note: I recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to our first session to verify your specific mental health benefits, co-pays, or deductible requirements.
Therapy Tailored to You
Compassionate Care for All
Therapy should feel thoughtful, practical, and deeply personal. I integrate research and theory with a steady, grounded presence to help you examine the patterns that keep you stuck and the choices that no longer fit. Understanding why you feel this way is the first step; learning how to live differently is the second.
Our goal is to build your resilience and foster a stronger, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
